Hospital volunteers provide a variety of services to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. Our flexible program has many options for those interested in giving back to the community. Whatever your interest or availability, we can find a project suited for you!
We do ask that volunteers commit to 25 hours a year, either through a routine weekday schedule or by helping with occasional or seasonal projects.
Routine Weekday Volunteers
If you would like to volunteer on a regular basis, you may be interested in one of the following areas:
- Waiting Room Host / Hostess – Volunteers offer refreshments, stock the room with current magazines and escort patients to other areas.
- Information Desk Greeter – Volunteers welcome and direct visitors to their destinations.
- The Pink Boutique Gift Shop Assistant / Cashier – Volunteers staff the shop and help visitors and employees select gifts and other sundries.
- Home Away from Home Receptionist – Home Away From Home provides motel-like sleeping rooms for out-of-town outpatients and family members of hospitalized patients. Reception desk volunteers help guests register, explain safety guidelines, stock food / personal hygiene baskets for guests and prepare the rooms.
Many opportunities are also available for those who cannot volunteer regularly. Opportunities include clerical and administrative duties (for example, updating the Volunteer organization’s scrapbooks). Volunteers also serve as greeters and help with registration at hospital events. Plus, we always need extra help with our holiday gift wrapping effort:
Holiday Gift Wrap – Volunteers wrap gifts from the day after Thanksgiving through Christmas Eve. Duties include making bows, wrapping gifts and staffing the booth at Frontier Mall. This is the Volunteer organization’s largest off-site annual fundraiser.
All CRMC Volunteers are invited to come out on August 12 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in front of the Cancer Center. Wear a hat, t-shirt or jersey to celebrate your favorite baseball team as we celebrate all you do for Cheyenne Regional Medical Center!
