Level II/Special Care Nursery

For premature and sick newborns, we have a Level II/Special Care Nursery also known as a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Our goal is to help newborns experience an easier transition into their new world. Our Level II Nursery staff consists of registered nurses who have specialized training in caring for neonates.

If a newborn needs to stay in our Special Care Nursery after the mother has been discharged from the hospital, we have “boarder rooms” available for parents so they can be close to their infant at all times.

Additionally, the Cheyenne Regional lactation team will continue to support moms and Special Care Nursery infants with breastfeeding. (For more information, visit our breastfeeding page.)
