Groundbreaking Ceremony for New Cancer Center to be Held August 13

Cheyenne, WY – Community members are invited to the groundbreaking ceremony for Cheyenne Regional Medical Center’s new cancer center on August 13 beginning at 4:30 p.m. The ceremony will be held on the site of the new center, at the intersection of 24th St. and House Ave.

The groundbreaking is being coordinated by the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center Foundation.

“The new cancer center will house all cancer services under one roof and will be a welcoming, caring place for patients to receive treatment,” said Carol Waeckerlin, Foundation board member and chairwoman of the center’s capital campaign.

“By building a new facility to house all cancer care services, Cheyenne Regional Medical Center is ensuring that high quality care remains in our community and region,” said Tamela Thiede, oncology director at Cheyenne Regional.

Foundation board members, Cheyenne Regional executives and trustees and local physicians are expected to attend.

A reception will follow the groundbreaking in the Cheyenne Regional courtyard, between the hospital cafeteria and the medical office building to the south.
