Cheyenne Regional Medical Center Invites Community to Tour Newly Renovated Behavioral Health Services Spaces

Cheyenne Regional Medical Center has completed renovations to its
inpatient and outpatient Behavioral Health Services spaces, creating safer,
more welcoming environments for patients while expanding CRMC’s ability to meet
the community’s growing need for mental health services.

The project includes significant improvements to both inpatient and outpatient care areas.
Inpatient Behavioral Health Services increased the number of high acuity rooms
from two to four, allowing CRMC to more quickly accommodate patients coming
from the Emergency Department who require a dedicated space. The renovation
also includes an updated nurses’ station, a larger medication room and new
furniture in the patient day room.

Outpatient Behavioral Health Services received new flooring, paint and furniture, along
with additional therapist offices to accommodate growing demand. The renovated
space also includes a dedicated area for transcranial magnetic stimulation, or
TMS, treatment.

“Our goal was to create an environment that is safer for our patients and staff while also
making it more welcoming and comfortable for people seeking care,” said Greg
O’Barr, administrator of Population Health and Strategic Planning at CRMC. “By
opening our doors to the community, we also hope to encourage conversations
about mental health and help reduce the stigma that can prevent people from
seeking the care and support they need.”

CRMC will host a community open house Wednesday, Sept. 30, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the
Cheyenne Regional East Campus, 2600 E. 18th St. The event is free and open to
the public.

Attendees can tour the newly renovated inpatient and outpatient spaces, meet members of the
Behavioral Health Services team and learn more about mental health services and
resources available through CRMC. The event will also feature CRMC’s TMS
technology, a noninvasive, medication free treatment option for depression that
uses magnetic pulses to stimulate targeted areas of the brain. Attendees will
have an opportunity to learn how brain mapping is used to personalize TMS
treatment.

Refreshments and complimentary giveaways will be available.

Visitors should enter through the main entrance of the East Campus. Elevators are
located directly behind the lobby, and Behavioral Health Services is on the
second floor.
