Cheyenne Regional Medical Center Recognized for Excellence in Specialty Care by Healthgrades
Cheyenne Regional Medical Center (CRMC) was named a top-performing hospital in key service areas by Healthgrades, the #1 site Americans use when searching for a doctor or hospital.
CRMC’s new accolades include three Specialty Excellence Awards, which place the hospital among the nation’s top 15% for Overall Orthopedic Services, Critical Care and Emergency Hospitalizations in 2027.
Notably, CRMC also achieved Five-Star Ratings in eight specialty areas, including Treatment of Heart Attack, Treatment of Heart Failure, Total Knee Replacement, Hip Fracture Treatment, Treatment of Stroke, Gallbladder Removal Surgery, Treatment of Sepsis and Treatment of Pulmonary Embolism
In addition to these achievements, CRMC was also the recipient of the 2027 Orthopedic Surgery Excellence Award, 2027 Critical Care Excellence Award and the 2027 Emergency Hospitalization Excellence Award.
“These recognitions reflect Cheyenne Regional Medical Center’s commitment to providing exceptional, high-quality care to the communities we serve,” said Tim Thornell, CRMC President and CEO. “Being recognized among the nation’s top-performing hospitals across multiple specialties is a testament to the expertise, dedication and compassion of our physicians, nurses and staff. We are proud of these achievements, which reinforce our commitment to ensuring patients in Cheyenne and throughout our region have access to outstanding healthcare close to home.”
CRMC’s achievements are based solely on what matters most: patient outcomes. Unlike rankings based on surveys or reputation, Healthgrades evaluates hospital performance strictly on objective clinical outcomes–risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates–across more than 30 common conditions and procedures at approximately 4,500 hospitals nationwide.
The impact of choosing a high-performing hospital is significant. Healthgrades’ 2027 analysis revealed that if all hospitals performed at the level of five-star rated facilities during the 2023-2025 study period, 227,229 lives could have been saved and 158,138 complications could have been avoided.*
“Finding a hospital that excels in a given procedure or treatment can transform a patient’s health trajectory,” said Alana Biggers, MD, MPH, medical advisor at Healthgrades. “We’re proud to recognize CRMC for its top-tier performance in cardiac, orthopedics, neurosciences, gastrointestinal, critical care and emergency medicine and commend its team for delivering exceptional patient outcomes when it matters most.”
