Cheyenne Regional Administers First PLUVICTO® Treatment, Expanding Advanced Prostate Cancer Care in Wyoming

Cheyenne Regional Medical Center has successfully administered its first PLUVICTO® treatment, marking an important milestone for the organization’s cancer program and expanding treatment options for patients with advanced prostate cancer in Wyoming. The procedure was performed this month by Dr. John Schallenkamp, a radiation oncologist at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, in collaboration with Cheyenne Regional’s Nuclear Medicine team.

PLUVICTO is designed for patients with advanced prostate cancer who have already undergone other treatments. The therapy works by finding cancer cells and delivering treatment directly to them, helping reduce damage to nearby healthy tissue.

“Bringing PLUVICTO to Cheyenne Regional expands access to an innovative treatment option for patients with advanced prostate cancer,” Schallenkamp said. “By offering this therapy locally, we can help patients receive specialized care closer to home while remaining connected to their support systems and care teams.”

The addition of PLUVICTO gives patients access to another treatment option in their community, reducing the need to travel long distances for care and expanding options for those with limited remaining therapies.

Cheyenne Regional continues to invest in advanced cancer services and innovative treatment options to ensure patients throughout Wyoming and the surrounding region have access to high-quality care close to home.
