At Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, we know that surgery is never “routine.”
In addition to a surgical team dedicated to providing exceptional patient care, general surgery at CRMC incorporates some of most advanced equipment in the industry.

The CRMC surgical team staffs an MD Anesthesiologist.
Here, we conduct pre-op teaching and testing to prepare the patient for their surgical experience.
Operating Room (OR)
CRMC has a full-service operating room with 9 surgical suites and two GI Endoscopy Procedure rooms. Our team performs between 400 and 500 surgical procedures every month.
In our OR, we have four specialty call teams: Open heart, neuro, orthopedics and general surgery. These call teams are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. All call team members are certified in trauma care and available to assist, when needed, with trauma patients in the Emergency Room.
The operating room staff is comprised of RNs, certified surgical technicians, anesthesia technicians, CNA/Patient Care Techs, perfusionists, certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNA) and secretaries. All operating room RNs are TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) and CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) certified.
Additionally, we have an in-house OR team, an RN and a Surgical Tech available 24/7 to support our Trauma Program.
Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
The Post Anesthesia Care Unit RNs are ACLS and PALS certified and have a background in critical care nursing.
Same Day Surgery (SDS)
Same Day Surgery (SDS) staffs RNs, CNAs and secretaries to care for patients who are admitted and discharged for day surgery or other procedures too acute for a doctor’s office, yet not needing an overnight hospital stay.
The Sterile Processing staff decontaminates, reprocesses/reassembles and sterilizes equipment and supplies the Emergency Room, Obstetrics and Home Health—anywhere sterile equipment and supplies are needed.
