Biography

Smitha Neerukonda, MD has practiced medicine since 2023 and practiced in Northern Colorado prior to joining CRMG.

Dr. Neerukonda decided to become a physician when she was a child shadowing her father who was a cardiologist. She went on to work in a healthcare setting for AmeriCorps where she discovered her love for helping patients. She took an even greater interest in cardiology through her residency program at Emory School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia.

Dr. Neerukonda then went on to a fellowship in cardiology at the Ochsner Foundation in New Orleans, Louisiana where she learned how to care for patients and improve her skills in imaging, specifically nuclear imaging and echocardiography.

“I strongly believe in the importance of the physician-patient relationship. My job as a physician is to listen to my patients and provide the best care that I can for them,” says Dr. Neerukonda. “I also enjoy learning about my patients’ lives. I truly believe that my job as a physician is to provide advice and to help my patients make the best decisions for their medical care.”

Dr. Neerukonda grew up in Odessa, Texas but also lived in Colorado as a child. She enjoys hiking and exploring new places, singing, reading and doing yoga.
