Schallenkamp, John, MD

Dr. John Schallenkamp treats most cancers but has interests in brain, lung, prostate and bladder cancers. He works directly with clinical trial availability for patients in rural communities.

Dr. Schallenkamp previously practiced in Billings, MT prior to joining UC Anschutz School of Medicine and before coming to Cheyenne Regional.

His patient care philosophy centers around creating a care plan that focuses on the patient in an understandable and efficient way while using the best known data.

“No patient should expect less than excellent care due to their geography and I strive to bring best known care to rural communities,” Dr. Schallenkamp says. “Patients should feel empowered to choose their path forward. This way, patients can often spend less time at the doctor’s office and more time doing the things that bring them joy and satisfaction.”

Dr. Schallenkamp and his wife enjoy cycling, working out in the outdoors and spending time with their three grown children. He also enjoys traveling and scenic motorcycle touring.
