Cheyenne Regional Medical Center Foundation to Host 2025 Great Bison Shuffle

July 29, 2025—The Cheyenne Regional Medical Center Foundation is excited to host the annual Great Bison Shuffle presented by UniWyo Credit Union on September 13, 2025, at the Terry Bison Ranch in support of Cheyenne Regional Medical Center’s Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab program. This family-friendly race includes a Half Marathon, 10K, 5K, 2K walk, and kids run and is a trail-style course.

In 2024, CRMC Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab had 17,486 patient visits for exercise classes, up from 14,719 in 2023. Additionally, they averaged 85 patients per day in Cardiac Rehab and 40 patients per day in Pulmonary Rehab.

“As our patient volume increases, so does the wear and tear on our machines. Grant funding is crucial to our program as it allows us to replace aging equipment or upgrade outdated equipment to ensure we are offering our patients the safest and most effective options for exercise,” said Carrie Nix, CRMC cardiac and pulmonary rehab manager.

The Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab Program houses 42 exercise machines between their two gyms with equipment averaging six hours of use per day. The exercise machines range in price from $4,000 to $7,000 apiece and need to be replaced every seven to 12 years.

“Being able to partner with the Great Bison Shuffle is a wonderful way to support our practical needs while also serving as a motivation for our patients who train for and participate in the race,” Nix said. “We are so grateful for the support of the Foundation year after year to help ensure we can continue to serve patients with cardiac and pulmonary disease in our community!”

The Foundation is proud to extend discounts to military, first responders and healthcare workers. Contact the Cheyenne Regional Foundation to get discount codes at 307-633-7667 or by emailing [email protected].
