Karla Walden, MS, RDN, LD

Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Karla Walden, has practiced as a dietitian in Cheyenne since 2002 and has been a Clinical Dietitian at Cheyenne Regional since August of 2006. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in food and nutrition/dietetics from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri. She then attended Colorado State University to complete her dietetic internship while earning her Master of Science degree in food science and human nutrition. Karla has completed the Certificate of Training in Adult Weight Management Levels I and II and the Certificate of Training in Pediatric Weight Management. After graduation and before joining CRMC, Karla also worked as a Clinical Dietitian for the Cheyenne VA and Women, Infants and Children (WIC).

Since working at Cheyenne Regional she has served as the dietitian on several units including the intensive care unit, telemetry, surgical, ortho-neuro, pediatrics, progressive care, and cardiac rehab. After recently leaving her 10-year full-time inpatient role in June of 2016 to spend more time with her new baby Lydia Ruth, she now is working PRN as an Outpatient Clinical Dietitian for the FNS Outpatient Nutrition Center. She also enjoys sharing her expertise on nutrition and healthy eating throughout the community by giving presentations and participating in career fairs and wellness programs for local schools and businesses.

Karla enjoys her new role of raising Lydia, working out, keeping house and cooking, going on dates with her husband, spending time with her step-son Brady, and visiting with friends and family.
