Biography

Dr. Strayhan practiced medicine in the United States Air Force which took him to Japan, Arkansas, Texas, Iowa, South Dakota and Hawaii.

He grew up witnessing a segregated medical system which prompted him to want to serve those with limited access to healthcare. Dr. Strayhan chose psychiatry because he found psychiatric patients often have restricted access to care, increased co-morbidities and decreased lifespan and he believes forming a therapeutic alliance with these patients begins the healing process.

Dr. Strayhan’s hobbies include reading, yoga, martial arts and Japanese health-related activities.
