Biography

Born and raised in Rapid City, SD, Ellie graduated with a BSN from South Dakota State University in 2014. She began her nursing career at a 25-bed critical access hospital. She then went on to graduate from Mount Marty University with her MSN, FNP degree before spending five and a half years in an ambulatory rheumatology clinic managing rheumatic disease, osteoporosis and reading DXA scans.

Ellie chose to become a nurse practitioner because of her desire to continue to provide direct patient care and advance her knowledge and scope of practice. “I have always been drawn to staying up to date on current evidence-based practice,” Ellie says. “I also have family members impacted by rheumatologic disease and osteoporosis, which initially drew me to the specialty.”

Her goal as a nurse practitioner is to provide personalized, high-quality care to each of her patients.

In her free time, she enjoys taking walks with her significant other and their two English Golden Retrievers. She also enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, going to the lake, cooking and traveling.
