Dawn Salyards, Director of Psychiatric Nursing

Dawn began her career in Behavioral Health in 2005 as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), knowing from the very beginning that psychiatric nursing was her true passion. Throughout her career, she has grown professionally and expanded her expertise in the field. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), obtained her Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing Certification (PMH-BC) and later completed a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a focus in Administration and Leadership. These experiences prepared her for her current role as Director of Psychiatric Nursing.

Supporting mental health has always been at the heart of Dawn’s work. She is deeply committed to providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients while helping strengthen the well-being of the communities she serves. Dawn believes in fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration and patient-centered care that promotes positive outcomes for both patients and staff.

Outside of work, her life revolves around her family, especially her two grandchildren. Dawn enjoys spending as much time as possible with them and cherishes the joy and balance they bring to her life.
