- Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) is an objective evaluation of swallowing, currently only with adults.
- CRMC is currently the only hospital in Wyoming to offer this type of evaluation.
- An outpatient procedure that passes an endoscopic camera through the nose to view the swallow. Allows for visualization of the following:
- Pharyngeal (throat) structures
- Laryngeal (voice box) structures
- Swallow function
- Impact of various strategies and textures on swallow safety
- Typically takes 10-15 minutes and provides real time information to help determine treatment needs.
