CARF Accreditation

Cheyenne Regional Medical Center’s Acute Rehabilitation Unit (ARU) is currently accredited by the Commission of Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for both general and stroke rehabilitation services.

CRMC’s ARU is the only CARF-accredited inpatient and stroke rehabilitation program in Wyoming, and one of only two CARF-accredited programs in a region extending from southern Wyoming to Boulder, CO.

What is CARF?

Founded in 1966 as the Commission of Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, and now known as CARF International, this accrediting body establishes consumer-focused standards to help organizations measure and improve the quality of their programs and services. Its mission is to promote the quality, value and optimal outcomes of rehabilitation services by enhancing the lives of the persons served.

How does an organization earn CARF accreditation?

An organization receiving CARF accreditation has undergone a rigorous peer review process, demonstrating to a team of on-site surveyors its commitment to offering programs and services that are measurable, accountable and of the highest quality.

Accreditation is an ongoing process, demonstrating that Cheyenne Regional Medical Center’s ARU is committed to continuously improving services, encouraging feedback and serving the community. Accreditation also demonstrates a commitment to enhancing performance, managing risk and offering optimal care.
