Breastfeeding Support & Resources

How you plan to feed your baby is an important decision for both you and your little one. If you choose to breastfeed while in the Cheyenne Regional Mother-Baby Unit, our goal is to help you and your baby become successful at it!

We offer a wide variety of resources to support your breastfeeding journey while you’re here with us, as well as after you go home.

All our staff nurses on Women & Children’s Services are trained to assist you and your infant during your hospital stay.

If you have questions or concerns about receiving the COVID-19 vaccine while breastfeeding, please visit the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine for more information.

Cheyenne Regional Lactation Support Team

Our excellent lactation support team, consisting of Certified Lactation Counselors (CLC) and International Board-Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC), is available to help and support you during your hospital stay and long after.

They can advise you about any breastfeeding issues or concerns you may have, including breastfeeding after surgery or if you are taking a prescribed medication.

The lactation team is available by appointment, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm. You can reach them by calling (307) 633-7567.
