Clinical trials enroll patients into clinical research studies that help to make progress in preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. Many clinical trials study the effects of new, innovative, investigational cancer treatments. Other trials compare new approaches to existing treatments, investigate ways to ease symptoms and minimize the side effects of treatment, and explore advances in cancer prevention and diagnosis.

To be enrolled in a clinical trial, patients must meet guidelines specific for that particular trial. Patients enrolled in clinical trials will receive all the recommended treatments, and will be closely monitored. When possible, we enroll patients in trials open here at Cheyenne Regional, allowing them to stay close to home. For others we may recommend referring to another treatment site for a trial that may be better suited.
