COVID-19 Community Vaccination Efforts
This past Saturday, January 9, Cheyenne Regional helped coordinate efforts to vaccinate employees of local home healthcare agencies, whose workers were deemed at higher risk. The event was quite successful with minimal scheduling problems. We will continue such efforts throughout our community for pharmacies and other Laramie County businesses as criteria are expanded.
As of today, the state has received approximately 27,705 doses of the vaccine and has dispensed to areas in our state approximately 9,000. Of those Laramie County has received 4,250 doses. We will continue to follow all Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Wyoming Department of Health guidelines to vaccinate recommended members of the general public first.
COVID Vaccine Scheduling Update for those 70 years of age or older:
If you receive a message from Cheyenne Regional Medical Center or Medical Group clinics for the COVID-19 vaccine, it is because you have been our patient within the past 18 months and are 70 years of age or older, and are approved for the current phase of COVID-19 vaccination within Laramie County. Please call the number you are given to schedule your appointment. Please do not share or forward the number as we are having to prioritize those who fit within the current given criteria.
Because of the scheduling of COVID-19 vaccines for ages 70 and older, we are experiencing extremely high call volumes and are also experiencing telephone delays. If you have already left a message to schedule your vaccine, we will call you back. We expect it will take up to 3 business days to return all messages. We apologize for this inconvenience
We are following all CDC and Wyoming Department of Health Guidelines for scheduling community members in a manageable and very specific phased approach. We thank everyone for their patience during this process. As more phases are opened we will continue to update information for our community.
