Services We Provide
Wyoming Orthopedics and Sports Medicine offers a complete range of orthopedic services including:
- Treatment for sports injuries
- Treatment for job-related injuries
- Joint replacement and muscle and tendon damage
Our team of physical therapists (PTs) and physical therapist assistants (PTAs) can help our patients to reduce pain and improve and restore mobility. We use a variety of techniques to actively reduce pain and improve a person’s ability to move around the home and community safely. We also offer specialty services, including pool therapy, management of leg/arm swelling and treatment to help manage dizziness. We will work as a team—with you, your family and your physician—to build a plan that best suits your lifestyle and support system.
At Cheyenne Regional, our outpatient occupational therapists (OTs) are certified hand therapists that specialize in treating the following upper-extremity conditions: fractures, trauma-related injuries, tendon and nerve injuries, repetitive motion injuries and other pain diagnoses. They incorporate a variety of techniques, including therapeutic exercise, physical agent modalities (ultrasound, e-stim, hot and cold), manual therapy techniques, and custom braces for the arm and hand.
The goal of occupational therapy (OT) is to return a patient to independent occupational performance, whether it is for basic self-care activities or for a safe return to his or her work duties.
Our hand therapists have more than 20 years of patient care experience in treating shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand injuries. They are the only two certified hand therapists in Cheyenne.
In a medical setting, Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) primarily addresses problems with swallowing, voice, cognition (thinking skills) and speech. Our therapists work with people who have had strokes, neurological disorders, dementia, head injuries (including concussions) and other conditions. Speech and cognitive evaluations are performed to assess a patient’s condition and determine the best course of treatment. The speech therapists help patients and their family members to better understand the situation at-hand, and educate them about how they can more effectively communicate with their loved ones.
