“We’re not large contributors to the Cheyenne Regional Foundation,” says Carl. “But we’re steady.” The couple has attended all twenty-one Denim ‘N Diamonds events, and they contribute to the Area of Greatest Need fund at the Foundation, both individually and on behalf of the law firm.

Foundation DonorFrom their beautiful 1940s home in downtown Cheyenne, Carl and Wilma Lathrop reminisce about their life in Cheyenne, their five children, twelve grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Their 59-year marriage has been truly blessed.

Carl was raised in Cheyenne and is a partner in Lathrop & Rutledge, P.C. Carl followed his dad’s footsteps to be an attorney and has been practicing since 1953. Wilma, originally from Casper, was a kindergarten teacher while Carl was in law school. After he graduated, she shifted her focus to raising their children.

They both feel strongly that the care at Cheyenne Regional is some of the best care you can get in the region. On a recent stay in the hospital, Wilma says, “The nurses were just wonderful!”

In addition to serving on various boards and committees over the years, the Lathrops support a wide variety of community needs, but certainly they feel especially loyal to the mission of the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center Foundation.
