November 19, 2021, Update #7

November 19, 2021 Master Facility Update #07

This week was extremely noisy with demolition in the 68 building. We have partnered with the PI team to help communicate with nursing staff and patients why we are experiencing this and to hand out earplugs to help alleviate the noise. Vibrations may continue to be felt, but this is normal and expected, and I promise is temporary. As I’ve rounded this week, I’ve heard a lot of questions surrounding timelines. Demolition is nearly complete. Installation of ducts, pipes, and framing for walls will come next. There will continue to be construction noise with these activities. We will do our best to communicate with the floors that are expected to experience the ‘worst’ to help manage expectations.

Below is an overview of construction that is happening at Cheyenne Regional West for this upcoming {holiday} week.

asHighlights:

  1. A crane will be in operation on 24th street all day Monday, November 22nd.

  2. Continuing construction noise from 4th floor renovation. Contractor will not be onsite for Thanksgiving and the Friday after.

West Building = 24th Street Closures and Sidewalk Closures

Access to North Parking Garage, and Cancer Center will be available from Warren Ave.

Access to dock will be available in the morning (during #1 crane lift). Lift #2 will take a few hours and dock access will be difficult and may be delayed.

When is this happening?

Why is this happening?

Two (2) separate crane lifts will occur on Monday.

·         #1 will be blocking the traffic from Evans onto 24th street. Materials will be loaded to a roof on the Patient Tower. After this “pick” is completed, the crane will move to spot #2. This lift is expected to take most of the morning.

·         #2 will be in the dock area. Materials will be loaded to a roof on the 1968 building. This lift is expected to take most of the afternoon.
