December 24, 2021 Master Facility Update #10 

Happy holidays from Facilities, PMO and Safety and Security! Below is an overview of construction that is happening at Cheyenne Regional West for the upcoming week.

Highlights:

  1. Elevator A2 is continuing to be refurbished. Once completed, the contractor will adjust the A1 car so passengers won’t feel the rattling that is currently experienced.
  2. Lift will be set up in the dock area on Tuesday, December 28th. Access to dock doors will remain available.
  3. The lot across the street from the south parking garage is being rented by our contractor and CRMC to help store items and park vehicles during construction.
  4. Continuing construction noise from 4th floor renovation.

What is happening?

Elevator passengers have noticed a rattling while riding elevator A1. The contractor will address this issue once they are completed with the refurbishment of the A2 car. We have been in contact with the elevator contractor and have been ensured that the car is safe.

 

When is this happening?

The adjustment will take place after the A2 car is complete so as not to take both elevator cars out of operation at the same time.  

Why is this happening?

They believe a shim just needs to be adjusted but will investigate once they shut it down.

What is happening?

West Building = Dock manlift

 

This is NOT a road closure. The crane will be operating in the dock area as far west as possible. Contractor will coordinate to accommodate dock access.

When is this happening?

Tuesday, December 28th until mid-January

Why is this happening?

 The manlift will be in the dock area. Materials will be loaded onto and unloaded off the roof.

What is happening?

Our contractor and CRMC are renting the lot across from the south parking garage for storage.

Where is this happening?

Lot on Evans and 22nd Street

When is this happening?

Currently through the end of construction

Why is this happening?

The contractor needed areas to park large vehicles and equipment and CRMC is using it for off-site storage for various project materials.

What is happening?

General scraping, pounding, grinding, demolition noise and vibration on the 4th floor, 68 building and patient tower.

  • Thuds and impact noises will be prominent on the southside of the 1968 building (especially noticeable in 3-1 surge unit and 5th floor peds unit).

Where is this happening?

Demolition will continue to be on the 4th floor in the old TCU space. Framing is being installed in the old 4-2 unit and on the north end of the old TCU space. Several rooms on 3-2 are currently closed to accommodate new plumbing openings.

When is this happening?

Week of December 27th.

Why is this happening?

As part of the Master Facility Plan, we are remodeling the 4th floor 68 building and 4th floor patient tower to accommodate a new Mother Baby Unit. This construction will be ongoing until fall of 2022.
