Electrocardiogram (EKG) Course


Heart Care and ECGCourse Description 
Cheyenne Regional offers a basic EKG course. The basic EKG course covers the anatomy and physiology and electrical conduction of the heart in relation to the cardiac cycle. A systemic approach to EKG interpretation is used to identify normal and abnormal cardiac rhythms. The course will provide students with the knowledge to be able to interpret basic five-lead EKG rhythms, normal sinus rhythm, heart blocks, ventricular tachycardia, and asystole. Students will also learn causes, symptoms, treatments and interventions for each type of cardiac rhythm.

Who should take this course?
This course is designed for clinical staff whose responsibilities include EKG monitoring.

Certification Period
There is no certification for the EKG course.
