March 30, 2016—Meet Vicky. She’s the Director of Major Gifts/Planned Giving at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center Foundation. Vicky is one of those people that always goes above and beyond to get involved and work hard to make our community a better place. She’s thoughtful and kind, and always willing to lend a hand! She told us about her work.
“One of my greatest enjoyments is assisting the staff at Cheyenne Regional to provide the best patient care possible. I enjoy that my work helps patients to have positive experiences, through funding for training opportunities, medical equipment and patient services. I enjoy talking to staff and patients, hearing about their needs and then figuring out ways to fund the solutions. The funds the Foundation has been able to raise for Hospice, the Cancer Center, the Mother/Baby Unit, and other departments has really helped to impact care which makes me proud.
I love the diversity in my job. Every day is different. I became an attorney because I wanted to help people and through my job I get to do that in all sorts of different ways. Hearing about what is important to donors and then helping them carry out their wishes truly makes my work feel meaningful. Last year I was able to assist with the funding of a project to keep more premature babies in Cheyenne. That project really hit home to me because I am a mother of a toddler and have another baby due later this spring. It’s been awesome to see more and more infants be able to stay in Cheyenne close to their families without having to leave the state for treatment.”
