February 25, 2015—Meet Laurie. She’s the Clinical Director for a handful of our specialty care programs, including: PACE, Home Care, Hospice, Supportive Care, and Care Transition. She’s been with Cheyenne Regional for 30 years, and she’s a woman on a mission to improve peoples’ quality of life!
“My love is working with seniors and the elderly populations. The programs I work with allow me to do this every day! I love the mission of our organization–to nurture and improve the health of individuals and the quality of life for our community–these programs I am part of aim to do exactly that! That’s what it’s truly all about. We’re here to help improve the quality of life for the people in our community. How can I not love what I do?
This organization has allowed me to create, start up and grow new programs, and I feel very supported by my supervisor, our CEO, Margo, and all of the people we work with. My job has allowed me to grow both personally and professionally. It’s what I went to school for and I’ve always wanted to work in this area with this population of people.
I think that when in the course of your job you can help to make someone’s life better and to help create special moments, it’s so rewarding. It’s an amazing opportunity for each of us that get to do it every day. Of course, we provide the full range of nursing and health-related care for our participants, but it’s also providing them with the opportunity to do meaningful work in their lives–to be social, to be active, and to participate in activities they enjoy. We get to help bring them greater joy in life, and it’s really the simple things that matter so much!”
